In Science, Eye Witness accounts are the LOWEST form of evidence. If you cannot reproduce the results, and all you have is someone saying "Really! I saw this thing" then you have NOTHING.

Another point, Fischer is argueing the "God of the Gaps." That is to say, that the evidence for God is the gaps in Human Knowledge.

‘So, the only eyewitness account we could possibly have would have to come from the creator himself, and fortunately he left us an eyewitness account.

Or the Bible authors stole the stories from the Sumerians.....

re: #1 TDG2112

Eyewitness accounts are not all that reliable in courts of law, either. Ten witnesses, ten versions of the same event.

Also, eyewitness accounts from supernatural beings are not admissible in court, or in science. Lawyers will want depositions, and deities never appear when you really need them. And in science there's the whole bit about reproducibility. So, the science guys would God to create a whole 'nother planet, just to be sure he wasn't falsifying the data or screwing up his methodology.

Fischer and Mortenson together have offered perhaps one of the stupidest arguments for Biblical Creation that I've ever heard. Not surprising, considering the sources.

 Frank says:

You see, when I was a kid I used to save up for a month, so I could get an R&B album and, the same day, the completed works of Anton Webern. Maybe that means something. Maybe that tells you something about my music. -- Excerpt from the book "Rock and Other Four Letter Words", copyright 1968.
