Black Friday Shooting at Tennessee Wal*Mart
At Wal*Mart! Where else?
A Tennessee man rushing to Walmart before dawn on Black Friday was arrested for allegedly shooting at another motorist because she “wouldn’t get out of my way.”
The woman was not hurt. Her husband, an off-duty sheriff’s deputy, was driving behind her and handcuffed the suspect, the Knoxville News Sentinel reports.
Jerry Leon Poe, 62, of Clinton, was taken to the Anderson County jail and charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and reckless driving.
According to the arrest report, Poe said he had waited in line for five hours at the Clinton Walmart to buy his grandson a stereo that was on sale, but the store sold out before he could get one. Just before 5 a.m., he decided to race to another Walmart.
And to think people are fighting to get stores to call these “Christmas” sales instead of “Holiday Sales!” You’d think they’d want to disassociate themselves from this violence.
