You might think that Republicans are shooting themselves in the foot by alienating the working class like this.

What you don’t understand is that they have a plan for that too. If they abolish public schooling then the working class they’re screwing over won’t learn to read and they will never find out about all the crap that they’re pulling.

Oh look what just came over Teh Twitterz

Who among us hasn’t done a slow burn in the checkout line, as we watched the person ahead of us with a cart overflowing with luxuries we can’t afford, chock full of expensive name brand items - (doesn’t the government allow people to save money on generics?) and then whip out their SNAP card to pay for it all. I don’t live in a poor neighborhood, and I see it all the time.

America’s poor have it better than the vast majority of the rest of the world. Not the rest of the world’s poor - the rest of the world period.

…the typical person in the bottom 5 percent of the American income distribution is still richer than 68 percent of the world’s inhabitants.

Yeah except Mr. “I Hate Teh Poors” you can’t live in the U.S. on the same amount of money that a Bangladesh worker is paid. Funny how that works.

It’s not gruel, therefore it’s luxury as far as Breitbrats are concerned. The poor deserve to eat sawdust.

Expect to see the GOP propose a new “food gleaning” program, previously known as “dumpster diving”, because there’s a lot of food going to waste out there, and there’s no reason we should have to pay anything because poor people are too lazy to go out and find it.

re: #5 Skip Intro

That’s exactly what Limbaugh suggested kids do a couple years ago when a RW legislator in a red state wanted to stop the state’s summer food program for kids, so you’re not so far off, Skip Intro, not so far off at all.

I’ve noticed that in order to be poor enough to be pitied by the GOP, you must actually wear sackcloth and ashes. It’s not enough that you can’t afford healthcare, or have no plan for when your car gets totaled.

No, you have to actually be crawling on your hands and knees before you’re poor enough to be poor.

And of course, nobody is actually poor, they are just hiding from their bootstraps or some such crap.

Correction: In order to be poor enough for the GOP to care, you have to be a minority so that they can bash the system or have died from starvation so that they can claim that government doesn’t work.

Doing math on the numbers from the CNN article, the GOP voted to take food off of 23.5 million children’s plates.
