The polarizing quarterback has been released by the New England Patriots, as first reported by Adam Schefter of ESPN. The cut came after a lackluster preseason for Tebow, who could not unseat Ryan Mallett as Tom Brady’s backup.

Why some people seem to have hate boner for Tim Tebow is beyond me. Yes. he’s an evangelical, but he doesn’t hurt anybody and he is a genuinely decent and charitable man. The hostility he receives is unwarranted.

I agree. I also don’t ever recall Tebow ever cramming his beliefs down anyone’s throats either. He was a great college football player who just wasn’t good enough to play in the NFL. He’ll make a really good analyst for any network.

This, in the end, is it. He would have helped himself had he been willing to play at positions other than QB as well.

Only if that network carries the 700 Club. I don’t know of any other networks who would want an analyst who would ascribe everything happening on the field to the will of God.

A little bit for the somewhat over-the-top evangelicalism (though mainly his fans), but a ton for being way way waa~aay overrated for so long (especially when he was with the Broncos).
