Marine Le Pen-Geert Wilders Alliance
This is really bad news.
In an interview with a Dutch newspaper NRC Handelsblad, Le Pen declared : “We could perhaps campaign together for the elections. It’s important that the voter sees that we do not stand alone, that similar patriotic movements are active in every EU country.”
Le Pen said earlier this year that she wants to begin a pan-European far-right parliamentary grouping, including her National Front (FN) party, after the May 2014 European elections. […]
I was hopeful after reading a couple of weeks ago after reading that Wilders had been snubbed by some, but he has apparently found a friend in Le Pen.
BTW, while we’re on the subject of Wilders, let me bring something up: I know there are some here who consider The Algemeiner a good news source, so let me just point out that they—rather approvingly, IMO—posted an article earlier this summer about Wilders saying, “My friends, what what we need today is Zionism for the nations of Europe.”
Do you know where else it was also posted rather approvingly (albeit with a bit of cognitive dissonance in some cases)? The Stormfront forum. Yeah, them and just about every other racist and/or nationalist site in between, not to mention a whole slew of anti-Muslim hate sites (naturally).
But, hey, don’t take my word for it. Check out the Google results for yourself (Algemeiner is at the top of the first page, Stormfront towards the bottom of the second).
I usually try not to be rude without a good reason, but this crap makes me cranky. If you don’t see a problem when a site you consider a “good source” has an overlapping area of agreement with racists & white nationalists, like some kind of hideous Venn diagram comprised of two circles of Hell, then your ethics are seriously lacking and your priorities in desperate need of rearrangement—get a grip.
