Yup, there is a Harlan County, but Danville is nowhere close. Harlan is in the far east of Kentucky, in the Appalachian Mountains. Danville is in the central part, not too far from Lexington (pronounced Lex-nun by locals, y’all).

And Danville is tiny, area-wise, Blink, and you miss it. Maybe 16,000 is not tiny to you, but after living in China for five years, even Louisville’s population seems tiny.
