My surprise. I’m showing it right now.

Sullivan is promoting this too.

Just something else to apologize for in four or five years, for Sully I guess.

He’s made a business model out of being unfathomably wrong on key issues of his days, and finding himself mistaken a tragically lengthy amount of time later.

He doesn’t always apologize. Last I checked, he was still defending The Bell Curve 20 years after it shown to be a bunch of racist bullshit.

This always happens when those on the right disagree with something or claim that something “offends” them. I remember RWer Virginia Foxx insulting Matthew’s mom when she was attending a hearing on the Shepard/Byrd bill in the House. Foxx claimed that Matthew’s death wasn’t a hate crime, and that anyone who said it was was taking part in a hoax. She claimed the main reason he was killed was because he was being robbed by his killers. To make a bad situation worse, Bachmann, Gohmert, Steve King, and other GOPers ran to assist Foxx in pushing the lie.
“The New York Times reported in 1998: “According to the local police and prosecutors, the two men lured Mr. Shepard out of a bar by saying they were gay. Then, the Laramie police say, the pair kidnapped Mr. Shepard, pistol-whipped him with a .357 Magnum, and left him tied to a ranch fence for 18 hours until a passing bicyclist spotted Mr. Shepard, who was unconscious.”

There is nothing the right won’t do to change reality, even if it means writing books filled with lies. If what happened to Matthew had happened to one of their relatives, they’d be on every TV program screaming out for justice. They just cannot accept that there are some Americans who will kill others because of their sexual orientation, but there are.

Andrew Sullivan is seriously promoting this book? WTF is wrong with him?

Typical of the Right Wing to put blame on the murdered victim. First it was Dr. George Tiller killed by an anti-abortion extremist, but it was his fault because he “killed babies” according to the Right Wing noise machine. Then it was 9 year old Brisenia Flores murdered by the Minutemen. But it was her fault becuase she was a “criminal anchor baby” according to Fox News. And then it was Trayvon Martin who was a “thug who deserved to die” according to all the Right Wing talk show.
