The opponents of this law are some of the stupidest people on the planet. I know they’ve never worked in a school setting and are just making sh*t up. Being that I am a retired high school teacher, I know how schools operate. Kids don’t have a lot of time to linger in bathrooms trying to solicit other students for sex, drugs, or anything else. The only time students have in an entire school day to spend more than two or three minutes in the bathroom is at lunch time. At my school, all of the bathrooms on campus were monitored by teachers to make sure that students were on their best behavior. This group is trying to find a reason to overturn this law, but its’ members should know what they’re talking about first of all. It’s obvious to me that they don’t have any idea that kids in schools across the nation can’t just spend hours in the bathroom soliciting other students to engage in anything. In many schools, if a student is in class and needs to use the bathroom, s/he has to receive permission from the teacher first, and s/he has only a certain amount of time to go to the bathroom and return to the classroom. Because of the possibility of being sued, most schools are extremely diligent about keeping up with their students’ whereabouts at all times.

Fortunately, the GOP in California is all but dead and their ability to get anything passed in the legislature, moot.

Not only are they almost dead, but now they’ve decided to attack one of their main money men, Charles Munger Jr. because - wait for it - he’s not conservative enough.

I wouldn’t mind the hysterical flailing by the party so much if I knew it was followed by the glub, glub, glub sound right before they sank below the surface of their own cesspool. So far, we still have too many floaters. We’ll have to endure them until their arms tire out, I guess.

LOL, like it even matters what bathroom you use… At home most people don’t have separate bathrooms for boys and girls, do they?

Anyway, I could somehow understand some issues if there were shared shower facilities, but how likely is that anyway? I’m not from the US, but most of my US-American friends told me that showering together (even of the game gender) was a really big no-no, and most never saw a ‘live’ naked body, apart from boy/girlfriends. (this changed rapidly after they came to Germany, obviously)
I can imagine that most gyms just have shower cabins…

I don’t know where your friend got that from. I never remember having a private shower stall in school, a local gym, or even years ago at the YMCA. There were doors on the toilet stalls, though.

I think the fatally repressed funda-freaks just get off thinking about this stuff, cooking up these improbable scenarios, spinning lurid mental images of the goings-on at the local high school, projecting themselves into the showers and stalls while they………
