How come I don’t find his argument the least bit convincing? He actually expects us to believe that mass murder is humanism at work. Tell me ray, why are there countries that are far more secular than ours, yet have a lower crime rate, especially a lower murder rate? You don’t have an answer, do you?

Wait, doesn’t the Bible allow you to kill your kids if they disobey you?

“What the world does is that it believes that every person is born good

I certainly don’t believe that, and never have.

Now, if you’re going to use the bible as your authority I just have one question. According to the bible, who created us?

Since, according the these guys, we’re all born evil, who is at fault here, the object of creation or the creator?

If I design a bridge or building, and it fails, do I get to blame the structure, or as the “creator” does the blame all fall on me?

Uh no Ray. It doesn’t prove anything about the Bible and the Bible’s more violent than any video game or movie.

Humanism, he said, cannot accept that some people are evil by nature as it says in the Bible

Only some people are evil, according to the Bible? So some people are not evil? Thanks for clearing that up, Ray. /

How come I don’t find his argument the least bit convincing?

Wingers argue by taking big Lego blocks of statements, images, icons, whatever, and sticking them together in a way that pleases them. It is not relevant that (for example) Ronald Reagan was likely a senile drooling idiot before he even stood for his second election in 1984. What matters is that he had “class” and looked good being Preznit. His actual activities as Preznit are good if they were successful, and nonexistent if they were disastrous or flat-out embarrassingly illegal and flat-footed.

So, Ray here is taking big logical Lego blocks, and like a five-year-old, sticking them together to make a world that he likey. One of those big Lego blocks, completely a mystery to him except for its color, is Humanism. Comfort lazily (like most conservatives, he’s VERY god-damn lazy in the head) sticks his Humanism lego block to something that makes it look bad. Some Lego block that comes from the special Beshitted Set Of Things We All Know are Evil, and he sticks them together, and ergo, Humanism is “evil.”

Once you start thinking of people like Ray Comfort as self-centered little five-year-olds, it’s a lot easier to understand his argument.

Maybe Comfort could explain to us heathens why so many other first-world nations who don’t dogmatically follow a Christian faith don’t seem to have a problem with things like school shootings.

You know, countries like Canada, Japan, South Korea, Germany… the list goes on.

Also, those countries that DO have a strict ingrained religion - they seem to almost always have problems with violent acts against attendees of places of education.

edit: Lest we forget - one of the few recent cases where a mass killing of children took place in a non-religious nation - was carried out by a Christian zealot by the name of Anders Breivik, in Norway.

The Kiwi creationist Comfort!
It is so obvious that this snake oil salesman is nothing more than a practised confidence trickster!
I wonder if my guardian angel helped formulate my opinion!
