1. She’s been fired.

2. I’m no fan of online firestorms.

3. That said, anyone who tweets something like Sacco’s message is unfit to be a public representative of a major corporation, let alone a communications director. No extenuating circumstances are possible. Period.

I’m wondering how well Ms. Sacco was performing in her job all along.

4. Her former employer is publicly traded (IACI). If I were active in the stock market, I’d be asking myself how well that company is managed.

It continues to amaze me that some high profile individuals don’t know/realize (or think about the fact) that the things they tweet and post of their Facebook pages are seen by others. Social media has its’ place, but it is not the place to post comments that show how small-minded and hard-hearted one is. If one does this, one can expect some pushback. After Sacco made her stupid tweet, she immediately gained thousands of followers. SMDH.

So when does the Tea Party and Cruz and Palin try and play this card on “free speech”? I’ll bet she was wondering why all those people were waiting for her.

Maybe if she said “I’m not gay.”

Does she come from some parallel universe where “white” people are immune to AIDS? I’m puzzled even by the premise of this.

What the whole story tells me is this, Ms. Sacco felt that she could as a PR professional get away with using incredibly racist language on a tweet in her own name and mentioning the company she works for. So yeah, I’m sure there are people out there who think she’s a “victim” who are the same ones who demand personal responsibility from poor people.
