Because not enough people vote at midterms. Too many democratic voters are feeling let down by Obama and don’t pay enough attention to realize that the slow economic recovery was caused by the GOP and TP fighting all of Obama’s initiatives to get job growth.

At that point it becomes a 3 party mess. It’s not much of a win when once in they will not support one another. TP GOP vs old school GOP. Libertarian vs not so much. Liars vs ordinary congressmen. Creationists vs donor base.

The good news is that in 2016, the senatorial map favors the Democrats, so the Senate is likely to flip back when Hillary takes office in 2017.

The GOP is not poised to win. I think that is a myth.

The key is for Democrats to stay freaking motivated.

New poll shows Mary Landreiu leading all GOP contenders. But if word gets out that a democrat is ahead by too much, democrats get lazy and stay home on voting day, assuming a sho-in.

The GOP’s priorities, scare me to death. The king makers in the party (Koch’s) see the democrats as posing a war on capitalism. The fight the tea party fights is for the very heart of capitalism itself.

It should be an interesting year.

just imagine you got all your information from TV and the slew of half truths and outright lies spoken there. Then add in newspapers and talk radio. Most people do. They are busy trying to make the payments and responsibilities of life and work and family and do not have the sense to understand what is at stake. Just look at the Fox News bombardment daily. How do you shove that much shit into one cable channel? It’s a wall of ignorance that is hard to get around for a lot of folks.

There are two reasons for concern.

1) The Republican Supreme Court’s gutting of the Voting Rights Act, allowing Republican states to expand their voter suppression efforts.

2) Gerrymandering, which has given the GOP the House for the foreseeable future.

The answer to the news coverage is that the media cares about drama and the ‘horse race’, not about consistency.
