Because only drug companies can make drugs from plants. We, as people, cannot use plants for anything unless the government allows it. And then only if the pharma companies approve it.

Beware the marihawana. Reefer Madness is a documentary, donchano.

I cannot imagine what this poor woman is going through.

And if a “professional” the likes of Eric Holder can actually have this fall from his lips; “I think it’s certainly a question that we need to ask ourselves — whether or not marijuana is as serious a drug as is heroin,” Holder said. “[T]he question of whether or not they should be in the same category is something that I think we need to ask ourselves, and use science as the basis for making that determination.”
You know that the quackery surrounding pot is deep and dense. that one person should suffer needlessly because “Pot is like heroin” is blindingly ignorant.
Meanwhile back at the labs, drugs such as Quaalude and Oxytocin were marketed with a guarantee of not being addictive. Oxy along with a long list of other nightmare brews. Ludes

You’re absolutely right. I have to say, it’s been very interesting to see the differences between the UK and the US— in the US, something like 22 states now allow medical marijuana. In the UK, it’s still treated legally as if it’s heroin.

When Quaaludes first came on the market, the contra/indications sheet on them was stunning. Basically all it said was “It’s candy, enjoy!” I’ll admit to partaking more than my fair share, and as far as a party drug goes, it was par excellent. But the pharmas have to this day let so much damaging drugs through you have to wonder just who the hell is in charge. TV in the states is awash in “If you were prescribed (fill in blank) and have had (fill in blank) happen to you contact us. You may be entitled to money.” IMHO, Quaaludes and Oxy have their place, but the way they were marketed should have been a crime. Mandax in your neck of the woods, and India is now the #1 supplier in the world.

Pot is not treated as a Class A drug in the U.K.
