Apparently it’s “Hail Mary” time in the 2014 election cycle.

Less than one week after Wendy Davis (D) shook up the Texas gubernatorial race with a controversial wheelchair ad against Attorney General Greg Abbott (R), who is partially paralyzed, another candidate for governor is making a similarly risky play.

Neel Kashkari, the Republican former George W. Bush Treasury official who is currently running 20 points behind California Gov. Jerry Brown (D), released a new ad this week that criticizes Brown’s record on schools and shows a drowning child.

This won’t even be noticed. Republicans are allowed to do blatantly, horribly offensive things like this. Nobody expects anything better from them at this point.

FWIW-That’s not why he will lose any votes though.
This is the guy that beat the Tea Party candidate in the primary, and is largely self funded. So his ties to the GOP national party machine are near zip. Had a lot to do with TARP,

This is no hard core RW Republican. he is much more of a classic California Republican-Socially moderate and fiscal conservative. Jerry Brown being the very serious fiscal conservative that he is stole away the raison d’�tre right out from under Kaskaris feet.

The video is awful, but unfortunately has more than a grain of truth to it. We were told as Californians certain tax increases were for schools, classrooms, cutting class sizes.

Thing is most of that money went into troubled pension funds. That’s not the classroom. Not even schools.
