“The fullness of being a woman is being a mother,” Father Andrew Beauregard, a Franciscan monk who comes to pray the rosary outside the Boston Planned Parenthood, says. “For a woman to say that she has to have control over her body or over herself in such a way that she can’t be a mother really speaks to a degradation towards women.”

The vast majority of women who use birth control are mothers or become mothers when they are ready. Having only the number of children one feels like one can take excellent care of is being a great mother!

Denying a mother of young children the option of a life-saving abortion in a catastrophic pregnancy is a peculiar way to “value motherhood”.

Here’s my issue with these people from a Christian perspective. To me these protesters are a lot like people who wanted to kill the prostitute in the well known Gospel story.

Those people were REBUKED by Jesus for acting inappropriately and unfairly. I’m talking about the “Let who is without sin cast the first stone” story of course.

I meaning knowing what I know about Jesus, I just can’t picture him standing with these people screaming and shouting at the poor women who come to that clinic. And yet these protesters/terrorists/whatever believe they are doing The Lord’s Work (tm).

I just remember even when I was Christian and even against abortion somewhat that it bothered me. I felt that these people had no right to go harassing someone they don’t know and what they’re going through. It struck me as vile behavior then and it still does now.

What the are really doing is bullying poor women who are getting medical care.

How dare they want a free Pap smear or breast exam!
