He must have been mentally ill …

re: #1 FemNaziBitch

I realize you were most likely just being sarcastic, but I wanted to leave this info here anyway as it might be useful in the future.

That’s the thing that gets me: Unless the perpetrator happens to be Muslim, the conclusion seems to be that when someone like McQuilliams goes on a rampage it’s pathological, a mental illness, an anomaly—if a Muslim does it, then s/he’s perfectly sane and simply acting on religious dogma.

Out of idle curiosity I decided to Google rampage killings and found some interesting data, for example:

25 Deadliest Mass Shootings in U.S. History - See this Wiki page for cases of lone-wolf terrorism.

Behind the Bloodshed: The Untold Story of America’s Mass Killings

USA Today research reveals flaws in mass-killing data - Unfortunately, as with instances of killings by police, reporting is voluntary (there are apparently NO figures on racial profiling, police brutality and police militarization—for more info see this article over at FiveThirtyEight).

According to Wikipedia, rampage killings are defined as incidents with at least one of the following characteristics:

• Six or more dead (excluding the perpetrator)
• Four people killed and a double digit number of victims (dead plus injured)
• At least a dozen victims (dead plus injured)

Their list of rampage killers is divided by geographic location as well as other types of killings (workplace, school, familicide, etc.) Here’s a screenshot of a table summarizing the numbers, with full listings based on geography as indicated below. Note that each age begins with:

This section does not include school massacres, workplace killings, hate crimes, or mass murders that took place primarily in a domestic environment, like familicides, which form their own categories. Cases where the primary motive for the murders was to facilitate or cover up another felony, like robbery, are also not included.

Africa/Middle East
Americas
Asia
Europe
Oceania/Maritime Southeast Asia

Then there are the incidents of actual lone-wolf terrorism, which seem to be comparatively much fewer and are defined as (emphasis mine):

A lone wolf or lone-wolf fighter is someone who commits or prepares for, or is suspected of committing or preparing for, violent acts in support of some group, movement, or ideology, but who does so alone, outside of any command structure and without material assistance from any group.

I’m no statistician, but it seems to me that the chances of an American getting murdered by a non-Muslim American acquaintance or some lone-wolf nutter with a grudge is much more likely than getting murdered by a Muslim terrorist, lone-wolf or otherwise.1

Just to be clear, I’m NOT excusing terrorism in any manner, shape or form, nor am I saying it doesn’t pose a threat—I’m simply saying that based on the numbers I just looked at, it doesn’t strike me as the biggest threat.

——————————————————————————————
The number of homicides in the United States in 2011—the most recent data available from the CDC—is 16,238, with 11,068 being by discharge of firearms. (PDF is here if you want to dig through it.)

Randall, I don’t know if you’re familiar with it, but yesterday I bought To the Far Right Christian Hater…You Can Be a Good Speller or a Hater, But You Can’t Be Both by Bonnie Weinstein, the wife of Mikey Weinstein who founded the MRFF.

It’s basically a collection of the hate mail they’ve received over the years from self-professed far-right “Christians”. I had to stop after the first few chapters because it was so awful—they attack not only Weinsetin, but also his wife & children, and the vicious antisemitism (especially bad), homophobia, Islamophobia and threats of personal violence were just… mind boggling.

They express a mind-bending level of violent hatred towards anyone who disagrees with them. The only thing holding them back is the law, IMO. If the U.S. were to somehow become a failed state, I’m quite certain they’d be on a par with ISIS—they’re completely deranged. In fact, I’m beginning to think a failed state they can take over is exactly what they’re wishing for when they talk about revolution, secession, taking “their” country back, etc.

They seem to want a White, Christian U.S. governed by biblical law in which people of ALL other ethnicities & beliefs basically have dhimmi status.

No, scratch that—hell, dhimmi status would almost surely quickly start to look like an upgrade compared to what they seem to have in mind.

Yes, some of these people are out there on the edge of the Texe Marrs and Jeff Rense zone, chock full of Christian hate.
