Beautiful Things, Revisited
As commenting Lizards know, I am fond of counted cross stitch. At the end of June 2014, I finished one major project and shared it with you all. While I was waiting for the beads needed to finish that one, however, I started a new piece.
The pattern is once again by Mirabilia, this time Venetian Opulence, and stitched on 32 count linen by Lakeside Linens (Light Exemplar). The total size is almost 9” by 22” (it’s huge!) and the colors are vibrant, rich, and gorgeous. I’d adored this piece for years and I am so thrilled to have completed. Watch this space for potentially more photos tomorrow - I was racing the sunset in order to get some shots with natural lighting and couldn’t do a good set without casting shadows, so think of this as a teaser. :)
My next piece is already underway; I’m taking a break from the Mirabilia patterns (although I still have so many more to do!) and instead working on a pattern of the Great Wave Off Kanagawa. At the current rate it might even be done soon!*
* Where soon is sometime in the next three years.
As promised, here are some new photos in better light.
