B. B. King, whose world-weary voice and wailing guitar lifted him from the cotton fields of Mississippi to a global stage and the apex of American blues, died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was 89.
It was reported on Mr. King’s website that he died in his sleep.

The last of the Three Kings and the end of an era. He toured a little too long and was being heckled by audiences at the end, but he wanted to play until he dropped and he came pretty close. RIP B.B..

Anyone wanting to check out some B.B., I would recommend Live At The Regal from 1964. This is generally considered to be his best live lp and my personal favorite.

The man could flat out sing. and make you feel it. It’s all inevitable as the sun and sky above but still it stings. I would go and “rediscover” him every few years.
