Oy, what doesn’t go back to the John Birch Society somehow? I’m actually impressed with them now. Don’t wanna be, but I am. You’ve got a real knack for finding interesting stuff, Thanos.

What’s with these madlings and their deranged hairstyles?

re: #1 Eigth Immortal

My father by blood was a full blown raging bull bigot from Chicago, and his racism was not the only way he demonstrated to me “how not to be a decent man.”

Wow, I never would’ve guessed. No wonder you know the subject so well and dislike the players so much.

Since seeing a visual presentation is easier for me, I’ve started a mind map to help me understand relationships between far-right groups & whatever connections they have to the modern GOP. It’s getting really unsettling.

Now just think what would happen if the GOP succeeds in 2016 with a clean sweep across the board: No more abortions, gay marriage gone, voting rights trashed. Who’s next in their sights-Catholics?

re: #4 CuriousLurker

It always has been. I recommend you start with the UR conservatives and then follow their scions to understand the descent of the madness.

Thanks for the pointer. I went googling based on what you said and found this dissertation—looks interesting (downloadable PDF at the link):

There are also youth groups formed by Reagan and William Buckley, there are many Paleolibertarian Christian far right groups formed by Paul Weyrich & co. and there are also the fathers of the current gold bugs (Howard Ruff, etc,) all that from the 70’s - 80’s. Predating that of course are the usual groups you already know about - KKK, CCC, John Birch Society, and all of the dark web of anti communist far right groups that used to have a purpose but now just hate on non-christians, non-white ethnicities, and immigrants not from Europe. I’ll take a look at that paper, thanks.

Isn’t blaming multi-culturalism the same thing as saying ‘whites only’ allowed?
