‘Little Free Libraries’ Popping Up Across Livonia
Livonia resident Nicole Mehelich is hoping her neighbors and other area residents wander onto her front yard, at least in the name of finding a good book.
She and her husband recently installed a “little free library” in their front yard, a national program designed to bring books to neighborhoods. Anyone can stop by and borrow a book at no cost and can return it there or to other little free libraries in the area with no due dates or checkout procedures. Her collection changes on a daily basis, she said, as she keeps it stocked with various children’s and adult books.
