Benghazi committee and Trey Gowdy sued by fired investigator
An airforce reservist who was working for the Benghazi committee, who was fired after he had to go do his annual training is suing the committee and Trey Gowdy in particular.
A former investigator for the House Benghazi Committee filed a federal lawsuit against the committee Monday, opening a new chapter in legal skirmishes over the Benghazi attacks and subsequent investigations.
Last month, Brad Podliska, an Air Force Reserve major, alleged the Benghazi committee terminated him based on his military obligations and his refusal to advance an agenda targeting Hillary Clinton. Now, Podliska is detailing those charges in court in a new filing that alleges Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy broke the law by defaming him in their public battle over Podliska’s firing.
I don’t really have much more to add other than the lawsuit appears to be expertly written. It is completely clear what it alleges, and doesn’t going wondering off into bizarro world. I’m not sure what the schedule is like for the court that it will be decided in is like, but this could be a factor in the Benghazi committee being shut down.
It’s just too humiliating for the Republicans to have to appear in front of a court to admit how they were lying about pretty much everything, and it would also be humiliating for them to have to re-hire the guy who was fired. So instead they could shut down the committee and pay the guy off to go away.
