I am not going to vote in the MD primary. Doesn’t mean I won’t come out in November and vote for the Dem candidate though.
The Dem candidate should have zero problems explaining how dangerous a Trump or Cruz or Rubio Presidency will be for Americans — especially those who are minorities or women.
I’ll panic when I see the polls in the general.

Mmmkay but that’s a little bit late, no?

I don’t think this is something to worry about. For one thing, many of those Republicans are people coming out to vote against Trump, and they won’t come out to vote for him. And comparing this year to 2008 is a bit unfair, since in 2008 Democrats had an unprecedented rock star caliber candidate in Obama and a red hot race between him and Hillary. I understand the concern, since we keep getting shellacked in the midterms due to poor turnout. But with Trump as the GOP nominee, I would expect a big general election turnout by Hispanics for the Democrats.

Some of it may have to do with the possibility many dems would be ok with either candidate.

But I hope this trend doesn’t hold during the general election.

Yes it’s early, but Hillary is up by almost six.

Trump is so polarizing that I am convinced he will drive turnout to record highs, both for and against him. To imagine that hispanics and muslims, for example, would sit out this election and not make an all out effort to get out to the polls to vote against Trump doesn’t make much sense to me. The muslim vote could be critical in, say Michigan. The only thing that worries me is the e-mail situation. Breathless reports from Fox News I assume to just be spin, but this Washington Post story is concerning.

I put some of the low turnout to the fact that some people don’t care which one wins they will support either.
