Another giant in music is gone.

In a sad year in which we lost the likes of David Bowie, Glen Frey, Paul Kantner and Maurice White another giant in music died. Keith Emerson of Emerson, Lake and Palmer died at the age of 71. No cause of death has been given.
“Keith was a gentle soul whose love for music and passion for his performance as a keyboard player will remain unmatched for many years to come”, his colleague and bandmember Carl Palmer said. “He was a pioneer and an innovator whose musical genius touched all of us in the worlds of rock, classical and jazz.”

According to the BBC it was a self-inflicted gunshot.
