Heh. Good guy with a whole lot of guns.

There are briefs on what to look for in a possible suicide or active shooter. I’m glad this fellow paid attention to such things.

I couldn’t figure out why “Ohio University police were preparing to send out a campus alert when Howard was apprehended” or why he was “being held on burglary and weapons charges” when there was no mention of him having done anything illegal. Turns out the KTLA piece left out a small but important part of the story:

The Ohio University Police Department says the incident started on campus Monday morning at the Bird Ice Arena.

Officers say 25-year-old James Howard entered the arena and forced his way into the Assistant Hockey Coach’s office, while attempting to hit him.

OUPD immediately issued warrants for Howard’s arrest and believed he had fled Athens County.

I wonder if the wingnuts will start screaming that Howard’s 2A rights were violated.

Yes, I realize that the 2A protection is to prevent government abridging one’s right to bear arms. I’m also aware that as a private citizen/business the gun store owner could refuse to sell to anyone as long (as he wasn’t doing so on the basis of race, religion, etc.), but that’s never stopped stopped them from being out OUTRAGED before.

In this case, no, they won’t scream. Howard turned out to be a nut, and even Larry Pratt is glad to have avoided a mass shooting.
