I’ve been following this lunatic’s chances in TX. Frankly, I’m surprised she lost.

Good news. But Texas has way too much influence over text books. I would hope other states would have their own standards and find companies willing to be less swayed by Texas.

It appears that being decked out in patriotic dress did not help her campaign in the end. Bruner is nutso, and I’m glad more voters in her district realized it before it was too late. This is a win for Texas students.

The issue is that Texas schools can only buy textbooks approved by the state. Whereas most other states allow local districts a freer hand in textbook selection. So Texas forms a single huge market as opposed to many much smaller markets.
