Anticipating Possible Medical Need, Heart to Heart Mobilizing for RNC
This highly experienced organization is sending one of their disaster-ready mobile medical units specifically because of the threat of violence:
LENEXA, Kan. - The organization that responds after natural disasters, Heart to Heart International, is going to Cleveland ahead of the Republican National Convention in case violence erupts. In light of all the political and societal unrest in recent months and days, the founder of the organization, Dr. Gary Morsch, decided the organization needed to be there to help people in medical need. Volunteers from across the country have agreed to go to Cleveland for the convention- and the potential protests surrounding it. This is the first time Heart to Heart has been to a political convention. “Normally we wait for a crisis and then we respond, in this case we look on the horizon, we see dark clouds in our country of people with very strong opinions, very polarized,” said the organization’s CEO, Jim Mitchum.
