Little George (Lowell) wrote this, and Little Feat has the best version. That band was a jar of magic. I don’t know if you are familiar with their work but I suspect you would be quite pleased with it. Here’s the original.

LITTLE FEAT /// 5. Willin’ - (Sailin’ Shoes) - (1971)

Man I miss this band.

I’m very familiar with little feat, and most of the Southern Rock of that period. This is the best cover of it that I’ve heard, it beats out the Tom Petty and Linda Ronstadt versions by a whisker.

Little Feat actually recorded two versions of this song. The first one, from their debut album, is my favorite. Nothing on this one but voice, acoustic guitar, and Ry Cooder playing slide.

Yeah. Saw that one. No Little George tho. Like the Lowell touch. Said he played with a Sears spark plug socket. Man that’s a heavy item. He must have had his action high. On a side note on slide guitar, when I was around 20 or so I had a box of Coricidin bottles. Right about 70- 72. Like a lot. Trying to remember. 48? 75? 100? A LOT. No label. I gave them away. “Here. Try this!” Most of the folk I gave them to used then as stash bottles. Imagine that. All the stuff that went through my hands. I could sell them today at $100 a pop. I always prefered steel on my pinky. Don’t play much slide these days, but with age it may be wise to sharpen up. Always liked open E. Ronnie Wood and Keef owned that key.
Derek Trucks lives in open E. Saw him last year with Susan and that horn section. Damn good. I have to find a way to see more groups.

Detroit Local Powers First EV Charging Road in North America The road, about a mile from Local 58's hall, uses rubber-coated copper inductive-charging coils buried under the asphalt that transfer power to a receiver pad attached to a car's underbelly, much like how a phone can be charged wirelessly. ...
