Hillary Clinton Wants a Campaign Reset
As the general election approaches, articles are appearing announcing a HRC campaign “reset”, as she notices that her appeal among millennials is cooling. The problem with this entire paradigm is the self defeating prophecy that was her strategy, which made millennial appeal so bad in the first place. Somehow, the HRC campaign thought it was good to tout the support of people like Henry Kissinger, and give long speeches on american exceptionalism. That is the very reason she now feels the need to pivot. With astounding short term memory loss, she forgets that in her primary run a few months prior, the man who won the hearts of so many millennials won on being a proud, firebrand progressive. Her then proceeding to give the fired DWS a job, then going on the trail bragging about her support from famous neo con’s, is what lost her millennial support in the first place. If Hillary Clinton wants to win the election, she needs to stick to Bernie Sanders electorate. It is a win win. She wont lose the support of the minorities who gave her a win over Bernie in the primary because Trump is so deplorable, and she gets the youth vote, and she has a better chance of winning independents. The last one also frustrates me, in that the HRC campaign somehow thinks it can win the independent vote by playing center. Again, who won independents every time they could vote in this years Democratic primary? The man to the left of her. This reset better stick, she needs to stick her base president Obama won off of the youth and liberal left wing vote in 2008, and I don’y know why HRC thinks centrism is the better strategy, it lost her a campaign in 2008, it almost lost her a campaign in 2016, and if she doesn’t change quick, it will lose her the presidency.
