They are no less family because they are furry.

I am glad you were able to be there with him at the end. It was the right thing, although no amount of saying that makes the emptiness any fuller or the pain any smaller.

Wishing you both what peace you can find and, if and when you’re ready, a new family member to share your home with.

Losing our furry family members is something we all dread because we dearly love our little family members. From another cat lover to both of you, my deepest condolences.

RIP Felix Randomkitty…

Thank you. It’s very quiet around here tonight - losing Felix is a heartache that will take a while to fill.

From somewhere southeast of you tonight (on the road in Hays, Kansas), my deepest condolences. I feel like I knew Felix through your posts.

It seems that every cat has a unique personality - Felix certainly earned the name Randomkitty.

Oh I am so sorry. Losing a pet is just so very sad. I am sure Felix was glad he had the opportunity to live with such caring folks.

I hadn’t known, until I read this page, that Felix had been an orange tabby. It brought back memories of our own Max (our “basic starter cat”): who lived to be 17-1/2 (despite some health problems) and whose departure still causes a tug at our hearts many years later.

So sorry for your loss.

Felix’s pattern included a section that read “OK” — it was our opinion that was the approval stamp from the Oklahoma Department of Cats.

Sorry for your loss ‘mouse. Thanks for making Felix a pet member of LGF.

Felix would frequently come look at me here, then jump on my hands whilst I was typing.

There will be no more posts that end asd;oirawjrnkl ad;fljw. (sniff)

So sad and sorry Felixrandom did not make it. I have had several fine loving felines through their whole lives. I can not help but reflect they give us en entire life of theirs. And that is a thing to celebrate every time we are blessed with an animal friend. Sadness in the end is inevitable for those og us that love them. But it’s so worth it.

Very sorry for your loss. You did everything you could, and he knew he was loved right up to the end. Maybe more importantly, you gave him a wonderful life, and I hope that, even while you two are grieving, you will remember that. It has helped me a bit when I have been where you are now. And I hope it helps, too, knowing that you have a lot of virtual friends keeping you two in our thoughts while you get through this.
You did right by your kitty.

Thank you … My wife did the sad task of packing up his things (food dishes, litter box, bed, &c) for me to take to the shed. There are kitty memories all around the house… .

I offer my sincere condolences to you and Mrs. Anymouse in regard to the loss of your precious Felix Random Kitty. I was really pulling for him to pull through, but he didn’t. I’ve loved the many stories you’ve shared here at LGF about FRK, which is why it never entered my mind that he wouldn’t pull through. I’ll keep you and Mrs. Anymouse in my thoughts. May the many wonderful memories that the two of you share about FRK comfort you and remind you that FRK had great human parents. Your loss of the presence of FRK in your lives resonates with me because my daughter phoned me a few days ago and informed me that one of her doggies, my youngest four-legged grandkid, had to be put down. He was less than five years old, and the news hit me very hard, so I definitely understand what you and Mrs. A are going through.

re: #27 majii

Thank you for your kind words, and I am very sorry to hear about your daughter’s pup.

Pesky furballs really do worm their way into our hearts, eh?

My wife packed up Felix’s things this evening, and I just finished taking them out to our shed. Neither one of us has been much interested in doing things like eating today.

((((((((((Anymouse and Mrs. Anymouse)))))))))))
Over the past 30 years we’ve shared our household with 12 each-one-different-each-one-loved felines and have shepherded several through those last months and oh how it hurts to lose them.
Some have lived with us since kittenhood, others arrived after being rescued.
Felix lived a wonderful and cherished life with you.
You’ll be telling stories about him forever.
