The Lubbock Avalanche Journal and its sister paper, the Amarillo Globe-News put the outrage tsunami in motion with this cartoon, published in Monday’s editions:
From the response you would think they had suggested locking Baptist Sunday school children in cages, or some other ghastly atrocity.
The Texas Municipal Police Association (TMPA) and the Combined Law Enforcement Associations of Texas (CLEAT) both issued lengthy harangues denouncing the paper.
State Representative Dustin Burrows (Pipsqueak-Lubbock) also had his say:
“This cartoon is not funny and is irresponsible. It perpetuates a false narrative that could not be further from the truth.”
Finally, FORMERDemocratic county chair and city council rep Todd Klein continued his quixotic and increasingly desperate quest for relevance by commenting:
