Standing With Ukraine: Where to Send Financial Support
I’ve compiled a quick short list of some donation sites to help with the humanitarian efforts in Ukraine.
The list is fluid and subject to changes/additions. Please note that several folks on the ground have pointed out on twitter that Paypal and Venmo DO NOT WORK IN UKRAINE.
Dear all,
As we tucked our children in for the night, my heart soared with the innocence of their childhood. I then turned to the news of the military operation in Ukraine …. And my heart sank. Though Ukraine is a world away, the Jewish community is a heartbeat away. And while we may not be in a position to effectuate international relations, there is a tremendous mitzvah we can do by helping our people – as well as many others who are threatened in this conflict.
Please join me in making a donation to the Ukraine Crisis Fund through the World Union for Progressive Judaism (WUPJ). The WUPJ is the international organization of Reform Judaism. Our dollars will go to ensure the safety and security of individuals and communities.
Please do not put this off. Right now is the moment in time to make a difference. The world needs our action.
With love, and with prayers of Shalom,
Rabbi Zach Shapiro
In the light of the recent conflict on the Ukrainian border, the World Union for Progressive Judaism launches the Ukraine Crisis Fund. We ask people from all over the world to make donations towards the support of the Jewish community in Ukraine.
Money will be spent on individuals and communities to ensure their safety and well-being. If the conflict escalates further, your money will become crucial and necessary help for many people. If the tension eases, the fund will be spent on the development of the progressive Jewish community in Ukraine.

Next up: Pie Overlord notes that chabad.org has boots on the ground:
We pray for the safety of our Jewish brethren in Ukraine along with all people in the affected areas. We pray for a peaceful resolution to this conflict. We pray that the people affected have the strength and resources to make it through this trying time. And most of all, we pray for the day when “nations will beat their swords into plowshares … and not learn war anymore.”
Even as bombs drop and the war unfolds, the nearly 200 Chabad-Lubavitch emissary families throughout the length and breadth of Ukraine remain with their people, providing much-needed material aid, encouragement, and most importantly, spiritual strength and support.
No matter where you are, you can make a difference.
Put a few coins into a charity box (or swipe your credit card) for a worthy cause, don tefillin, light Shabbat candles before sunset this Friday, and know that you just introduced a very real point of goodness and kindness into a world that needs it more than ever.
Say a few heartfelt chapters of Psalms (especially Chapter 20), and know that you have introduced a dose of spiritual energy into a world that seems to be pulsating with negativity.
May G‑d protect our Jewish brothers and sisters and anyone in harm’s way.
Your friends at Chabad.org
