How Did I Miss This?
As you all probably know by now, I am a HUGE Harry Chapin fan.
My “Remember When the Music” Diary commemorated the 40th anniversary
of his death last July. But for some reason, I totally missed this 2020
documentary. (it’s currently on Prime)
When In Doubt, Do Something is more about the way Harry lived his life
than about his music per se (although there is quite a bit of music in it.)
It has Bruce Springsteen, Pete Seger, Billy Joel, Pat Benatar, Bob Geldof,
Harry Bellefonte, Richie Havens, Graham Nash, Kenny Rogers and more
sharing recollections of Harry, his life, his music and his commitment to
causes.
I think if Harry had lived, he would be a strong, forceful voice today, and his mantra still applies to so many areas of concern.
Although he’s been gone for 40+ years, his legacy lives on, not just in his music,
but in his charitable efforts with the ongoing efforts of

Oh if a man tried
To take his time on Earth
And prove before he died
What one man’s life could be worth
I wonder what would happen
to this world
