On the other hand, a lot of the infrastructure costs that must be borne by AT&T, etc. are fixed. A great many young people aren’t getting land lines, and it’s not because the price is going up. They just have zero (0.0) use for a land line. This means that, to remain revenue-neutral, with many fixed costs, remaining users will need to pay more.

Not necessarily anything ethically dubious here.
