The government has some reason to think that there may be Muslims in the U.S. with terrorist aims. It has, after all, happened before, and not just once.

It is very much in the interest of U.S. Muslims in general that these guys be stopped. Efforts to head off further attacks are not “anti-Muslim”, they’re good for both America at large, and Muslims in America. They’re good for the international reputation of Muslims, as conversely, when an attack occurs and runs up a body count, that’s not so good.

Small wonder, then, that American Muslims are not aghast at the existence of these programs.
