Cue the howler monkeys whining about her being overweight and about how she “didn’t age well”. Which I take great offense to - when last I saw her, she looked damn fine for a 59-year-old. But that is, as usual, completely beside the point. Carrie Fisher is more than just an image on a screen, as she has spent much of her life trying to tell people. Beautiful, yes, but that’s not who she was as a person.
I find the way they attack women actors for not staying 19-25 years old to be despicable, while actors like Tom Cruise get to play as the romantic interests of women half their age.
