You haven’t really treated a good pair of shoes right, until you have had them professionally cared for by a shoe shop, or a good shoe shiner.
My folks town has a shoe shine/repair shop that’s been in business for over 40 years. NOTHING demeaning in practicing a skilled trade for a living.

Why am I suddenly thinking of Office Space, in which the miserable programmer becomes a construction worker, and likes it better?
