BTW, the theory that Putin was somehow behind the downing of the Polish plane (prima facie laughable and officially debunked by Poland) is really repeated mostly by the Polish hard right, like Macierewicz.

A lot of Poles I’ve spoken with over the years since that happened are of the opinion that it was a unfortunate accident caused by inclement weather and other factors. I haven’t heard anyone express the idea that it was a deliberate act by the Russians, and there’s quite a few Poles in Ostrava.
