I was going to buy a pair of sandals recently, but my wife decided that since I can’t stand sandals with that strap that goes between my big toe and the index toe; she got me to get shoes that you don’t wear socks with.

They are not sandals. She caught me one day wearing them with socks; and was taken aback. Really?
