Maybe find a way to load some parental control onto her phone so that you secretly get copies of all her texts. That way you don’t risk getting caught and as long as you don’t tell her the intelligence channel remains open. What you don’t want is give her a reason to start getting creative with secrecy, ‘cuz kids can be really good at that.

My dad, who had six kids before my brother and I came along, was a frigging expert. He knew what we were going to do before we did. On more than one occasion I planned something with a girlfriend, and we’d be off somewhere hanging out with some boys and—*POOF*—my dad would materialize on the scene like some kind of wizard.

That never turned out well for us (or for any boys foolish enough to attempt using teenage bravado on my dad). * So, yeah, keep the intelligence channels open.

*I recall a couple of promises madeby my dad to boys that resulted in immediate meek responses of “Yes, sir. Okay, sorry, sir.” LOL:
