I heard on the radio that there is talk of making some sort of national culture secretary or similar position. Will he be in charge of shit like this, or heroic statues and posters of the 0ne and other Soviet-style art?

Oh, I heard a great sobfest on NPR a week or so ago about how we’re the only “major” nation not to have a “minister of culture”, and how terribly embarrassing it is for us at the big international “culture” confabs not to have a Cabinet-level person attending, etc. etc.

Yep, let’s have the government explicitly run our “culture”, what a fantastic idea! What could possibly go wrong?
