The evangelicals I know and grew up around tended to have all of their kids doing the housework, and a lot of times the oldest girl plays mom to the rest of the children. And these were families where all of the children are theirs. No, the stories I have seen, that Happy is talking about, are those where the black children were adopted and really raised to be what the parents thought of as white.
