If it were about “random folks” (c) of the same faith, this would actually tend to confirm the explicit anti-Muslim angle, because a random shooter doesn’t seek out specifically Muslims unless he has an anti-Muslim motive.

But once we learn that they were neighbors and already had had conflicts before, there’s another dimension there, that may include both religious and purely domestic/mental issues.
