Really, Conservatives have no one to blame but themselves for the whole mess. Had they just kept Marriage from becoming a legal term and instead left it a religious term, we wouldn’t be having this issue.

But now it’s so wrapped up in the legal side, that people would scream more if people tried to remove the legal meaning.

But it would be the simplest solution, simply declare that Marriage no longer has a legal meaning and instead the only thing recognized as a legal term would be ‘civil unions’ Then it would be up to an individual church to decide if they wish to hold a marriage or recognize other churches marriages.

Oh well, they lay in the bed they made, and I can’t really muster any sympathy for them.

It’s been a legal term for longer than the current types of liberals and conservatives have existed. Your argument FAILs on the facts.
