re: #74 Backwoods_Sleuth
I’m going to vent here, briefly.
My youngest step-son gave more than 20 years of his life serving this country, retiring as a TSgt with the USAF.
He is 100% disabled as a result of his service.
It’s fortunate for him that he was stationed at Wright-Patterson when he retired and still lives in that immediate area, so has access to the medical facilities there.
However, the facility is overloaded and sometimes he is sent to a civilian hospital to deal with his chronic condition.
The civilian hospitals are also overwhelmed.
For veterans who came home to non-urban areas, access to VA care is even more dreadful.Sorry for shouting, but:
THIS IS A PROBLEM THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED.And I do NOT want to hear about how the GOP can flippantly talk about going to war AGAIN, but health care for our veterans AND American citizens as well are too costly.
I have a customer who spent 20 years in the Navy and has a 10% disability and he has to get on the van at midnight to get an exam for new glasses.
