It’s another example of dumbfuck legislators trying to deal with stuff they don’t understand at all. Practically speaking, there is no effective way to prevent a computer from accessing porn, because no manufacturer is going to agree to bork their products specifically for So Carolina, and in any event, someone in SC can just order a computer online with no such restrictions.

As I mentioned above, China tried the same thing with Green Dan Youth Escort in 2009, and the idea was so atrocious and offensive, the public and domestic manufacturers forced the government to back down.

This must be part of that “less government” and “less regulation” they are always talking about.
