A lot of cable channels ended up with too much programming time and thus started bringing in all sorts of marginal programming in order to fill time or attract viewers. I’ve seen the History Channel called the “Hysteria” Channel due to their over-the-top and poorly fact checked programs, and that’s even the ones that aren’t chasing some particular or bizarre conspiracy angle.
