Most of them are just pushing the line of what the govt determines is allowable. The TSA gave up right away and FIRE constantly files lawsuits against a variety of universities for their free speech codes. OTOH, police are making arresting photographers a habit. The illinois case I linked is a fishing expedition that will eventually get tossed, probably, although in a case I didn’t link to in AZ the judge ruled with the PD.

My only point is it’s only a matter of time before the abuses we see in europe are common occurances here. We have a first amendment that protects us but it’s only as strong as the populace keeps it.
