I donate directly to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Personal connections with both unfortunately, but that makes the giving all the more important. At least with MSKCC, I know the money’s going to the hospital facilities, research, and improving cancer care.

Cancer charities run the gamut on directing money to actual cancer research/treatment.

Charity Navigator helps sort out the good from bad charity, but in Sloan Kettering’s case, it receives most of its funding from medical care program services rather than donations, and thus does not qualify for the Charity Navigator rating system.
