I have no problem with people proudly proclaiming their heritage, and it is not opposed to being American.

I don’t have a problem with that either but when I hear some asswipe state proudly that he’s an “italian-american” or a “greek-american” and then you find out they’ve never even been close to visiting their homeland….well, I find it annoying. Most of the people like that I’ve run into are just looking for a way to fit into a group when their ancestors already chose to come join the best group on the planet.
