Not mine. My dog is dumb as a box of rocks. But I still love him.

20 years ago we got a sheepdog that was extremely smart, but grumpy to the point where we had to be careful with her around kids.

That dog lived to be 13, so we replaced her with another sheepdog. This one is totally stupid, but loves kids.

Having previously owned a Standard Poodle and an Irish Setter, my conclusion is that temperament and intelligence are inversely proportional.
