In Texas, you can’t get unemployment if the employer doesn’t want you to. They can reduce you to 10 hours a week and move you to a dangerous and wholly unsuitable assignment, and if you refuse it, you are considered to have quit your job and are not eligible. The state screeners make no secret of the fact that they work to protect the interest of employers.
